The true power in Demand Planning is built on interpreting and leveraging the insights gained from robust analytics, and then making those insights actionable across functions to drive better guidance & results. It has never been about creating the most accurate forecast – and yes, technology will replace that aspect of Demand Planning by 2025 – but instead, it’s value is driven through “partnership, persuasion, and proactive decision-making.” The need for these 3 P’s will only increase as automation grows, and this only indicates the evolution of a more highly-skilled, versatile Demand Planner, not the elimination of one
